It's been reported on other Polaris World forums that Polaris World Vacations are renting apartments on long term lets to migrant workers (fruit pickers) on La Torre.

On the forum it states that they think more are staying in each apartmnet than should be, playing loud music till all hours, cigarette butts being thrown over balconies, furniture including settees are getting dragged out onto the terrace. Meanwhile deck chairs & loungers are getting removed from other peoples apartments (without their knowledge) on the ground floor and being left by the swimming pools, also reports of graffiti in the underground car parks.

Outside the supermarket on the notice board there is apparantly a list for the workers so they know which bus will be picking them up to go to their place of work.

We are going to stay at La Torre when we complete at the end of July and some of them are reported to be in the same apartment block as us. Should be fun!

We are not intending to rent ours out other than family & friends, but I would not be happy if Polaris were letting ours out to these people who are getting the apartments for next to nothing when Polaris expect you to furnish the apartment to a high standard for their rentals.

Just be careful if you are intending to let long term and check who you are renting out to. Polaris advertise all our resorts as 5* yet they are quick enough to get any money in they can.

This is worrying information- do owners really know who has been in their apartments? Maybe they wouldnt care as long as they get a rental, but this may be short term rentall I suppose- however bad.  This is a point that put us off a resort as a purchase for a long time but Polaris 'seemed' to suggest the worst we could expect was holiday makers wanting a good time!! Are these reports coming from specific areas of  La Torre suggesting block bookings? Do Polaris retain apartments for their own rental? Jan

It seems to be only people that have used Polaris World Vacations to rent their properties through.

According to the forum concerned, the vacation club have been informed, and they have instructed security to keep an eye on the situation but have said that there have been no reports of damage by the housekeepers.

One of the owners concerned has been informed by telephone, from a neighbour, but probably the rest are unaware.

There seems to be a large group and Polaris Vacation Club said they would speak to the person in charge.

The other members of the forum are complaining that these apartments are being rented extremely cheaply on long term lets.

Maybe its been a little pocket of lettings- non the less, a worry. for those residents

We stayed at a great development in Estepona that persuaded us that a resort was going to be good for us to buy on- after looking extensively (expensively) elsewhere/everywhere in Spain. Even in the height of summer it was 'lively' rather than madness and it all had a great atmosphere. Certainly, we didnt have endless late night noise. Yes, you could hear people returning late at night and voices from people on their terraces but it wasn't awful, it was all rather mellow.

Hopefully this is a bit of a one off- Condado is advertised as a family resort so fingers crossed we dont hear this sort of news from there.
